It is the first full week of Minoomin Giizis (Ricing Moon), and the materials from the White Earth Community that we are sharing for this moon are attached to this email.   Our Food is Medicine teaching is Why Plant Colors are Good to Eat:  Learning about Antioxidants and Phytochemicals and The Food Topic is Gichi-ogin, Tomato is Our Relative.

This month’s moon challenge - Take the 28 - encourages including breakfast every day during the remainder of the moon – but if breakfast is a new practice for you, we are hoping that you can get breakfast at least 4 days in the next four weeks and that they are in some kind of a row.

The term Well-being has been applied in many ways. It is much more than just physical health, exercise, and nutrition. Well-being is commonly viewed as having seven dimensions: Awareness, Food, Being in Motion, Sleep, Balance, Relationships, Culture / Traditions.  Each dimension contributes to our well-being or quality of life and has an impact on each of the other dimensions. When it comes to our lives, we always hear about achieving balance in these 7 dimensions. Sometimes in our lives, one dimension is vying for more time or attention than another and we have to learn how to counterbalance our time between each one to achieve balance again. Most people have a dimension that is more important to them and that’s okay. But neglecting any one dimension can have adverse effects on someone’s overall health.

We have received several inquiries about the Home Grown project that has been provided to the Community in the past. Please read the attached photo with our plan for this year. We are waiting for the yellow light to turn green to get picking.
