The Waganakising Odawa Career and Technical Education Program (WOCTEP) is a financial aid program that supports workforce development through certificate/degree and short-term training assistance. Funded through the Native American Career and Technical Education Program, WOCTEP is designed to remove barriers to post-secondary education and training for tribal citizens and the greater community. We partner with North Central Michigan College in Petoskey, Michigan and Bay Mills Community College in Brimley, Michigan.
Whether it is a traditional degree or an industry recognized credential (IRC), we have a career path for you. WOCTEP supports a variety of workforce opportunities that offer a high level of skill and are in-demand. Programs are designed to accommodate a variety of student schedules from 4-week certifications to 2-year degrees, online or in-person attendance, and credit or non-credit career pathways.
Financial aid can include cost of attendance, technology, mileage, hourly stipend, and licensing/credentialing exam fees. Program eligibility is based on household income and grade point average (for credit-based programs).
Not sure what career is right for you or which one will fit in with work/life balance? Are you hesitant about your ability to participate in academic or short-term training programs? Do you want to explore options, consider barriers & resources, and begin the path to your new career? Contact WOCTEP to begin your journey!
