The LTBB Hatchery is hosting a Nmé Celebration at the Wolverine Village Park on September 16th 2023 at 1:00pm. This will be a wonderful family event, where we can celebrate the return of the nmé to the Sturgeon River. Lunch and refreshments are provided. Attendees will get a chance to release about 200 to 300 fish and send them off with kind wishes as the fish begin their long journey. Nme_Celebration_Press_Release-2023

Save the date! The 29th Annual Sovereignty Day celebration is on Saturday, September 30th from 3-7PM at the LTBB Government Center. Join us for a day of family activities, the parade, workshops, vendors, frybread tacos, and more!   We have two new activities this year to introduce The first will be a Prevention and Pride Color Fun Walk through Community Health and Behavioral Health Teams! A Flyer will be sent out shortly with all the details, you can sign up at https://forms.office.com/r/dCikpTQ4my The second is a Jiimaan making competition. Big or small! Wear it, pull it, or carry it! Decorate your version of a Jiimaan for the parade. We will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners! Community Health is teaming up with Behavorial Health for a new event for Sovereignty Day, Prevention and Pride Color Fun Walk.   If you have never participated in a color fun walk or run, I have provided a link for your viewing.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EERSfHiqT8   The event will take place during the Sovereignty Day celebration, September 30th, and will start approximately around 4pm.  Please meet Community Health at the fire pit pavilion after the parade to get ready to be covered in color.  The walk will be along the Ogichidaa Trail and is only 0.5 miles long. T shirts will be provided, so please be sure to use the QR code on the flyer or the link https://forms.office.com/r/dCikpTQ4my to guarantee yourself a shirt.  Please note, t-shirt sizes are small to 3 XL in limited size quantities.  You must participate to get a t-shirt and it’s first to sign up get dibs on sizes. 😊 So let’s wiijimosemdaa wiimnobimaadziying!!
