Winter Festival and Snowsnake Tournament

Winter Festival and Snowsnake Tournament

We are excited to announce that Community Health is hosting a Winter Festival on Saturday, March 9th at the Government Center. A part of this day is the Snowsnake Tournament. Day of registration for Snowsnake begins at 8:30 am and ends at 10:00 am. We plan to have inside events 10 am-2 pm including music, games, crafts, and storytelling.  This will be a potluck with soup, warm beverages and Manoomin pudding provided. Let us know if you have a soup you would like to add to the mix. Otherwise any potluck dish is appreciated.

Registration for Snowsnake is now open. See the attached flyer for the QR code or link. For questions or if your department would like to collaborate on this event please reach out to Janet at (231) 242- 1613.

If the snow does not cooperate for Snowsnake we will have a No-Run, Run at the Ogichidaa (Warrior) Trail around the Pow Wow grounds. There will be a shorter track near the building for elders and young children. The same age groups as Snowsnake will compete. Snowshoes and Yak Tracks will be available onsite. Only 1 rule, no running.

In 2025 the Winter Festival with Snowsnake will begin its annual date of the 2nd Saturday of February.
