Summer Solstice Event

Summer Solstice Event

The LTBB Community Health Department will be kicking off the summer with an event at the Pow Wow grounds on Friday, June 17th, which is made possible by the Good Health and Wellness In Indian Country (GHWIC) grant.

This event begins at 3 pm with a mini health fair, where participants can talk with the various programs and practitioners at Community Health. As you may have heard, we have partnered with a LTBB Citizen owned local farm for the Home Grown Project, Mshko’Ode Farm, who will also be at this event!

We will be doing health screenings, raffles, cultural activities, and games throughout the afternoon. Into the early evening, there will also be a picnic-style feast. This will be followed by SPRING Prevention performing a talking circle. We will end our event with the movie “Jumanji” starring Robin Williams, beginning at nightfall.

Bring your own blankets or chairs as this is scheduled outdoor event and be sure to dress for the weather. We will post again if this event is moved inside due to the weather.
