23 Apr Good Health and Wellness in Indian Country
As you may all know, Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians has been extremely fortunate to be partnering with GLITEC (Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Epidemiology Center) for a grant sub-award from the CDC’s Good Health and Wellness in Indian Country program. This is a great opportunity for the Community Health Department to continue our efforts in providing the necessary education to live a healthy life! There are numerous opportunities within this sub-award to improve the well being of our community!
When the LTBB Health Facility, as a whole, began their efforts with the Covid Vaccine, Community Health took this opportunity to do outreach! Over the course of our attempts, we managed to provide education to at least 850 tribal members and tribal community members, as well as fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, and traditional foods. These not only came from the Ziibimijiwang Farm, but the local farms as well.
IF YOU RECEIVED BOTH THE VACCINE AND A DISTRIBUTION PACKAGE AT THE LTBB COVID VACCINATION CLINICS BETWEEN JANUARY 20, 2021 AND MARCH 5, 2021 , PLEASE SEE BELOW:
On the attached flyer, you will notice that I am asking you to complete yet another survey. However, any information that you provide on said survey will be important data to ensure the Community Health Department is showing growth in our efforts. The time that you will take in completing this survey will not go unnoticed! It is our hope that you will be able to complete this survey by May 5, 2021.
