02 Feb Mask Distribution
Aanii LTBB Citizens,
Great news!!! The State of Michigan distributed 10 million free KN95 masks to help protect residents from COVID-19. Health experts suggest stepping up protection against the highly contagious omicron variant with stronger masks such as N95s or KN95s. These masks are in addition to 400 million free N95 masks the federal government is distributing to pharmacies and community health centers across the country.
LTBB was able to receive a supply of KN95s from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services for community distribution to help protect and keep our LTBB tribal citizens and their families safe during this pandemic. Each address/home will receive ONE pack; each pack contains 50 KN95 masks. The limit is ONE pack per address/home. To ensure that we keep everyone safe, this is a mail-only delivery. No local pick-ups will be allowed.
The Centers for Disease Control and Preventions says loosely woven cloth masks provide the least protection while layered finely woven products offer more protection. Well-fitting disposable surgical masks and KN95s offer even more protection, and well-fitting respirators — including N95s — offer the highest level of protection. Local pharmacies have the free N95s for people; limit is three per person.
If you would like a pack of KN95s for your family, please email: safety@ltbbodawa-nsn.gov with your name, tribal ID number, and a valid address, and masks will be mailed to your home. Supplies are limited. Once all the masks are gone, they are gone. This is a great one-time opportunity that has been given to LTBB. So don’t delay. And remember this distribution event is a mail-only delivery.
Stay healthy, stay safe.
Thank you from the LTBB Tribal Chairman’s Office and the LTBB Safety & Emergency Management department.
