The Great Lakes Fisheries Program is a division of the LTBB Natural Resource Department which conducts research and management activities within the Great Lakes in order to protect and promote natural resources of cultural, social, and economic importance.

Our mission is to understand the waters associated with the LTBB reservation, monitor trends and impacts on natural resources, develop natural resource management regulations, and provide information and documentation pertinent to the program's operations

We coordinate assessments and administer programs for tribal members related to the 2000 Consent Decree - a negotiated agreement between five signatory Tribes and the State of Michigan which governs the rights and responsibilities of the Parties in managing and utilizing the shared fishery resources in the 1836 Ceded waters of the Great Lakes.
